The Heck, all the way from the North of the Netherlands, Drenthe that is, write sixties-garage-stompers that easily might blow you away! That’s how the promo of their debut album ‘Who? The Heck!!!’ kicked off and now, only two years later, it’s time for their follow up: HECK YEAH!!
Spoiler alert: from minute one they will grab you by your throat gasping for breath. We are witnessing a true maniacal music machine that just can’t be stopped. First singles Move!, Shit on The Radio and Hate It Here are full proof of that and luckily are all included on this hit record.
To capture the true energy and excitement of the band, they decided to record the complete album in their garage which also functions as their rehearsal room; it just made perfect sense! The spirit of those recordings are trusted to the tape perfectly by talented young producer Bernard Gepken, who can capture ‘a sound’ like eating the Dutch special “Fries Barber Shop XXL’’: Unparalleled.
Musically the band still goes somewhere between the Sonics and Reigning Sound. But they dare to catch some energy of other groups like The Hives as well, while never losing their main focus: writing future sixties pop classics, served with the power and intensity of punk.
Available on limited glow in the dark vinyl (100 copies) and regular black wax.
